Tessa’s House · Residential Recovery
Pillars of Recovery
A structured, research-driven path to lasting recovery — built around you.
“The day I decided to walk through the doors at Tessa’s House was one of the most peaceful and important decisions I have made in a long time. For any woman who is ready to choose sobriety and begin a new chapter in her life, I highly recommend Tessa’s House. The staff and other women currently here have been truly amazing, supportive and inspiring. I am grateful every day for the courage to make the choice to come here, and I thank God for leading me through the doors. This experience has reminded me that choosing sobriety is not just about changing your life–it is about finding hope, peace, and the strength to believe in yourself again.” –Candice

Daily Life
Program Services & Daily Structure
Treatment is not based on a fixed timeline. While most residents stay approximately 30-45 days, the length of care is guided by clinical need and ASAM criteria — not a predetermined schedule. Programming is individualized, structured, and paced to each person’s recovery.
- Comprehensive intake and assessment
- Individual and group therapy
- Substance use and relapse-prevention groups
- Life skills and coping skills
- Wellness and self-care groups
- Case management and discharge/aftercare planning
- Medication management and coordination with medical staff
Continuity of Care
Peer Recovery Support
Recovery extends beyond the conclusion of formal treatment. Peer recovery support connects residents with people who have lived experience of recovery — offering encouragement, accountability, and community that continues well after discharge.

The Model
Treatment
Treatment is based on a 4-Phase Model that meets each resident where she is and moves at the pace of her recovery. Each phase builds on the last — from stabilization and safety, through skill-building and healing, to preparation for a sustainable life beyond treatment.
Care is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and person-centered. Programming is guided by ASAM criteria and delivered by a clinical team focused on individualized, women-centered treatment and continuity of care throughout every phase.
A Place to Heal
Environment & Campus
Located on eleven private acres in Washington, Maine, Tessa’s House offers a calm, natural setting where residents can focus fully on recovery. The campus is designed to feel like a home — safe, dignified, and removed from the pressures that so often accompany early recovery.
